Topic
As net-zero emissions have become a global trend, countries are proactively integrating renewable energy into agricultural systems to concurrently safeguard food security, foster rural development, and enhance the resilience of energy infrastructures. In the course of advancing its agricultural green energy policy, Taiwan has progressively developed diverse models such as agrivoltaics, fishery-solar integration, water-based photovoltaics, and biogas reuse, demonstrating the practical collaboration and development of between agriculture and green energy.
However, significant challenges remain in balancing agricultural management, land use, and energy development within the frameworks of institutional design, regulatory reforms, and practical implementation. The Conference, themed “Re-thinking on Taiwan's Green Solar Energy From a Global Perspective: International Comparisons and Lessons for Taiwan's Sustainable Agriculture,”brings together domestic and international experts and scholars to exchange insights on global experiences and local applications.
From policy design and institutional planning to case studies, the Conference aims to explore forward-looking and feasible pathways for promoting agricultural green energy and to realize the principle of “Rooted in Agriculture, Empowered by Green Energy” by integrating international experience with local implementation.
